Part is a modular shelving system. Only two elements are used for creating Part, horizontal white shelves and vertical bent metal dividers. The dividers come in black or white.
The flexibility of Part enables the user to adapt the shelves to hers/his needs. A large shelving module can be turned into two smaller moduls and two small ones can be turned into a large module. You do this by simply adding shelves and dividers to your existing Part module or acquire an extra base module which makes it possible take shelves from your existing unit and create a new unit.
Part works very well as a room divider. It doesn't have any back panel and hence let the light pass through.
The space that exists behind the front of the divider can be used to store cables etc.
The assembly of the shelving system works easily. Predrilled holes show the exact location of the part dividers.
The Part shelving was designed by danish design studio Goodmorning Technology.
The studio is based in Copenhagen, it is a strategic design firm and works across a wide range of design disciplines including furniture design, graphic, productdesign, packaging design and digital interaction. It was founded in 2003 and is now one of the 10 largest design studios in Denmark.
Creative Director at Goodmorning Technology, Mads Kjøller Damkjær, says,
"At Goodmorning Technology we are 100% magenta. For us magenta means a free creative spirit, completely interdisciplinarity, unconventionality, passion for the process and a genuine love for design. We are using our magenta power to push innovation forward, to investigate and to dare, to get out of the box and to do things others haven't done yet."
"Our thoughts about Part was to create a shelving system for people who would love the use of it every day. Love to look at it, love fetching a book off its shelves and who would love to add souvenirs, pieces of art, candles or other things that might be close to a Part owners heart. Also it was important for us to design a shelving system that was simple and minimalistic in expression, as well as being easely assembled- and adjusted."
